Ocean boosts staff for marketing push

Ocean Outdoor has appointed a marketing manager for the first time, to build awareness of the giant poster company's brand.

Helen Beacham joins the company from rival Primesight, where she was marketing and research executive.

Damian Cox, co-founder and chief executive of Ocean, said it was vital the company stepped up its marketing effort.

"Helen joining Ocean will ensure that we strengthen our brand, maximise our presence in the market and continue to increase our share of voice in the media," he said.

Ocean has also this week appointed Kenny McCallum as chief financial officer. He was formerly a finance and commercial director at WPP.

The appointments follow a management restructure at the company last month that saw Cox move from managing director to chief executive, and sales director Grant Branfoot take the managing director role.

Ocean holds advertising rights to giant sites including BFI Imax at Waterloo, the Centre Point tower in Tottenham Court Road and St-Martin-in-the-Fields in Trafalgar Square, as well as George Square in Glasgow and the Boddingtons Factory in Manchester.
