O2 supports Business Zones with £3m campaign

O2 is launching a multimillion-pound marketing campaign to back a discounted calls offer designed to boost its business customer base.

The mobile operator this week rolls out O2 Business Zones, which offers companies 40% off calls from O2 mobiles to standard landline numbers in any two area codes in the UK.

The £3.4m campaign, due to break later this month, will include TV, radio and outdoor activity in major UK cities including London, Glasgow, Manchester and Birmingham.

The ads, created by Vallance Carruthers Coleman Priest, feature blue neon area codes within cityscapes, alongside the mobile phone operator's standard 'bubble' branding.

O2 Business Zones is open to customers with at least two O2 mobile phones.

Its launch marks the brand's first concerted effort to target the SME market. O2 has 13m UK customers, but it is unknown how many are business subscribers.

The initiative follows Happy Hour, a consumer-focused promotion that offers free calls and texts between 7pm and 8pm.
