As well as featuring on TV, the 拢1m campaign will see the sleep aid brand feature as a sponsor of GMTV's weather segments.
The ad, called "Dreamland", targets those who sometimes need help falling asleep. It is shot in the style of a flickering silent movie and features turn-of-the-century style scenery.
A dream sequence shows a woman unable to fall asleep. Then a sign appears pointing "To the land of nod". In the next scene, the woman is asleep in a bed that is being carried off by swans, and it finishes with the line: "Good mornings follow a good Nytol".
The ads -- a 30-second spot and a 10-second cutdown -- will break on August 12 and run for six weeks. It backs up Nytol's sponsorship of GMTV weather, which started on July 29.
The campaign is the first for the brand since Grey bought the healthcare specialist PTK in May, thus consolidating the GlaxoSmithKline business. "Dreamland" was created by Grey PTK, with media planning and buying by Mediacom.
