LONDON - Npower has appointed WSM Sponsorship to develop its sales and promotional activity during the 2008 Npower Test Series.

The energy company selected WSM to work alongside Attention, its sister promotional marketing agency, following a competitive pitch.

Npower is working on a number of strategies to attract new customers, while rewarding cricket fans who already use its services. It will roll out series of initiatives intended to incentivise sports fans to sign up to Npower over the coming cricket season.

In January, Npower unveiled the logo for its sponsorship of the 2009 Ashes Series. It has been designed by Merchantwise and is being promoted with a viral video that pokes fun at Australians.

The utlities firm is currently repositioning with an ad campaign targeting women that aims to answer recent criticism of energy price hikes.
