The inaugural Stirling Fringe Festival on 11-15 September will host 35 events featuring a mix of art exhibitions, comedy shows, theatre, street performances and live music.
The line-up includes performances from Simon Townshend, younger brother of The Who’s Pete Townshend, Father Ted star Michael Redmond, and comedian and Capital Breakfast show host Des Clarke.
Other events set to take place during the four-day not-for-profit festival, which is being run by a team of unpaid volunteers, include children’s shows, poetry, spoken word performances, a mini beer festival and a spectacular Fringe ceilidh.
Barry McDonald, founder and director of Stirling Fringe Festival, said: "We have had real success securing a whole host of fantastic performers for the first Fringe Festival in Stirling.
"The interest has been fantastic both from the creative industry and the community and we can’t wait to build on the success, making the Stirling Fringe Festival a highlight in the calendar for next year."
He added that plans are already in place for a 2014 version of the festival in a bid to grow on the success of this year’s event.
