In response to this, SEFA is inviting anyone interested to join one of two focus groups. Each group will have ten to 12 people in it and will come from a variety of industry backgrounds including festivals, event management companies, venues and suppliers.
The focus groups that will look at the industry and event skill and education providers, will take place at Edinburgh Napier University on 10 October.
Jane Ali-Knight, SEFA's head of professional development, said: "The NOS for event management were written in 2008 and since then there has been little take up of the standards with the industry informally or formally through SVQs.
"In order not to duplicate this, this time it is important that the industry is fully engaged with the revision of the standards so that they feel ownership and can be adopted and used as a way of measuring and improving skills development."
Anyone interested in attending should contact Ali-Knight on j.ali-knight@napier.ac.uk.
