Express Newspapers owner Northern & Shell has denied reports that a sale of its stake in the Westferry printing plant is liable to go through within the next few days. It confirmed that preliminary talks have taken place with Daily Telegraph publisher Hollinger over a sale of the Express鈥檚 stake in the Westferry plant but denied that an agreement had been reached.
鈥淯ntil they come back with a fresh offer, there is nothing more to be said about it,鈥 said a spokeswoman for Northern & Shell. Hollinger already owns the other 50% of the operation. An existing agreement that the Daily Express be printed at the plant for the next nine years will not be affected by any new deal.
