The single is not on sale until five days later, meaning it will be the first time that fans can get hold of the band's new material. NME has increased its normal print run by 20% for the issue.
The single, 'Rag and Bone', is the magazine's first vinyl covermount since a Paul Weller single in 1993.
White Stripes lead singer Jack White has designed the red vinyl and gatefold packaging giveaway; the sleeve includes space for the white vinyl edition of the single that will go on sale later.
Conor McNicholas, editor of NME, said: "Jack has embraced the idea from day one and the care and attention that he has put into producing this vinyl package has been exceptional. I'm also very grateful to XL Records [the band's label] for their invaluable support in making this worldwide publishing event a reality."
