NME to give away White Stripes vinyl

IPC's weekly music magazine, NME, is to covermount a vinyl record for the first time in more than a decade.

In next week's NME, the magazine has teamed up with The White Stripes for an exclusive seven-inch record featuring Rag and Bone, a track from the band's latest album, which will be released two weeks later.

The record was devised in conjunction with The White Stripes' record label XL and features artwork by the band, including an etching on the B-side and pictures on its gatefold sleeve.

The sleeve contains space for fans to insert the vinyl version of their next single, Icky Thump, which is on sale a week later.

IPC has increased NME's print run by 20% for the promotion.

It said the disc, in the band's favoured colour red, will be the biggest single-order pressing of coloured vinyl ever made.
