Nike gives 72andSunny brief for European football

AMSTERDAM - Nike has handed a portion of its European football account to the independent agency 72andSunny, in a blow to Wieden & Kennedy Amsterdam.

The loss of the brief, by W&K Amsterdam, follows a decision made by Nike last April to move the Nike Plus account away from W&K into Miami agency Crispin Porter & Bogusky.

The Amsterdam office of 72andSunny was officially launched a year ago, but the agency was founded in 2004 by ex-W&K staffers John Boiler, Glenn Cole and Robert Nakata.

In addition to Greg Perlot, who was formerly director of advertising and brand research at Microsoft, and has worked for agencies including Publicis and BBDO.

The agency is headquartered in Los Angeles and is independently owned.

It has previously made a film for Nike Plus. Its other clients include the pram manufacturer Bugaboo and Microsoft.
