LONDON (Brand Republic) – Sports apparel brand Nike is being accused of forcing Brazilian football star Ronaldo to play for Brazil against France in the 1998 World Cup against medical advice.

Members of the Brazilian team are currently in court testifying against the team sponsor in a case set to determine whether the sports clothing manufacturer has too much influence in deciding who plays.

The case is being brought against Nike by the Brazilian Congressional commission. Nike denies the charges.
