
Sharrocks' responsibilities will include chairing DCM's external board, exploring new business opportunities and ultimately, growing cinema's share of the media market.
Sharrocks' brings a wealth of experience media and film experience to the role, most recently, as chief executive of Aegis Media Global Brands, where he was responsible for brand networks Carat, Vizeum and Posterscope. He left the marketing group in this summer.
Prior to his position at Aegis, Sharrocks held a number of European regional roles, including managing director of Warner Bros Pictures UK, where he oversaw the release of more than 150 major movies, including two of cinemas most successful franchises, 'Harry Potter' and 'Matrix'.

Before Warner Bros, Sharrocks was managing director of Grey Advertising and chairman of MediaCom – a company he launched in the early 1990s.

The work Simon and the team have already undertaken in transforming DCM into an innovative, digital business is really impressive and I am excited about working with them to continue to move this forward."
Digital Cinema Media (DCM) is the leader in UK cinema advertising, providing 2,903 screens at 484 sites for advertisers, representing 80% of the market.
