The appointment is the final stage in the restructure of the marketing department carried out following the appointment of Russell Collier as marketing director.
The restructure was designed to reflect a stronger focus on generating new business for regional newspaper members.
Pall comes from a media background having begun her career in the marketing department at regional newspaper sales house Amra.
According to Collier: "The Newspaper Society has now entered a new stage in the marketing strategy. We have proved that the regional press is an effective advertising medium; now we will be focusing more on working hand-in-hand with our industry's national sales houses and targeted agencies and clients. Carla will be central to this process."
After working at Amra, Pall moved to Meridian Outdoor Advertising, the outdoor arm of ZenithOptimedia where she worked as an account manager handling clients such as Toyota, Puma, Kraft and Capital Group.
Pall joins the Newspaper Society in a role that will see her promoting the regional press directly to advertising agencies.
"I am looking forward to working closely with the national sales houses to build the regional press share of advertising revenue. The Newspaper Society has a convincing body of research proving the effectiveness of the regional press as an advertising medium," Pall said.
