Reaching the Regions is designed to be used by a wide range of people to access detailed information on the regional press free of charge. Advertising agencies, for example, use the service to help plan regional newspaper campaigns.
Users can search the Reaching the Regions web directory by newspaper title index, publishers index, national sales operation or geographically, by selecting symbols on the ISBA regional daily or weekly maps.
Once a newspaper is selected, the user can view a comprehensive newspaper report for that title on the NS database. The report includes contact details, website links, advertising rates, mechanical data, details of the title's sections and supplements, as well as circulation and JICREG readership breakdowns.
Lynne Anderson, Newspaper Society communications director, said: "Reaching the Regions provides easy access to the most comprehensive database of regional press contacts in the UK. This is the most popular section of the website and serves a vital role, providing a single access point to a rich and diverse industry. The latest developments will ensure it is continually up to date and easy to use."
