The title has been priced at £3.20 and the first issue weighs in at 180 pages. Two million 28-page sample copies will be distributed with the Sunday Times and the Sunday Times Travel Magazine.
Lisa Helmanis, Inside Out editor, said it would address the financial as well as the emotional aspects of owning a house, with monthly analysis of the property market.
Although the magazine will mainly be purchased by women, a section called Foundations will have a practical slant on home renovation and investment projects appealing to men.
Each issue will have a theme linking the design, photograph and editorial -- the first issue concentrates on "views and visionaries".
Judy McGuire, editorial director of News Magazines, said: "Inside Out is a wholly new concept in style, design and content. It will be very different from its competitors within the sector, but will echo the maturity and influence of its sibling sections in the Sunday Times."
Editor Helmanis, formerly a freelance journalist, broadcaster and author, is joined by art director Debi Angel, who art directed the launches of Elle, Red and Red Decoration.
Clare Gogerty is deputy editor, having given up the editorship of Grand Designs, and Melinda Ashton Turner, formerly a freelance stylist, is style director.
The magazine is the second launch from News International's magazine arm, after real life weekly Love It, which debuted in February backed by £8m marketing spend.
