News Focus: Tri-Direct takes over Acxiom's list business ...

Acxiom has handed the business of its list management company, Consodata RFM, to Tri-Direct Sales after deciding that list management was not core to its strategy as a customer information provider.

The move comes after US-based Acxiom's acquisition of data sales and analysis suppliers Consodata and Claritas Europe.

Tri-Direct Sales will take on Acxiom's existing portfolio of five transactional lists, namely EMAP, FCUK Buymail, Hawkshead, The Jigsaw Consortium and Software 2010. Together the lists amount to a total of 15 million consumers.

"Acxiom came to us and said it wanted to extract itself from list management and needed a reputable list manager to take over its existing business," says Steve Reid, managing director, Tri-Direct Sales. "The owners of Acxiom's lists wanted assurances that we'd be able to meet their expectations and we feel confident that we can."

Consodata RFM's three staffers are said to have been redeployed by Acxiom.
