Under the deal, which was brokered by Aegis media agency Vizeum, Breakthrough Breast Cancer has been given more than 1,440 seconds of prime-time ad space starting next Wednesday (11 November).

In series five of Nip Tuck, the character, Christian, is diagnosed with breast cancer and the campaign is aimed highlighting the risk the disease poses to men.

Breakthrough Breast Cancer in partnership with the Institute of Cancer Research has recently launched the largest study into breast cancer in men.

Cecilia Parker, general manager at FX, hopes the sponsorship will help "bring to light the risk"
