Ovaltine, one of the UK’s oldest and most famous brands, has moved its
creative account into Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO following an internal
strategic review by its maker, Wander Foods.
Its sister hot drinks brand, Ovaltine Light, was the beneficiary of the
pounds 1 million adspend put behind the Ovaltine name last year. Both
had been held by Duckworth Finn Grubb Waters for almost three years.
The two brands will join the low-calorie chocolate drink, Options, which
is handled by AMV’s co-founder, Peter Mead.
Mead confirmed the win, which puts all of Wander’s pounds 2 million hot
drinks advertising under one roof. ‘We are looking forward to facing the
future looking after both Options and Ovaltine,’ he said.
The move comes two months after Wander’s new marketing director, Melvin
Jay, joined the company from United Biscuits.
Media for both brands, which is handled by CIA Medianetwork, is
unaffected.
