The rival online networks of The Telegraph and The Guardian have both launched new travel sites. Guardian Unlimited Travel launches officially on Friday, February 16, with Hollinger Telegraph New Media's site, travel.telegraph.co.uk launching the following Monday.
The HTNM offer replaces Planet, the previous travel section on the site, and is the second phase of a wholesale redevelopment of the Telegraph site. A sports channel has already launched and will be followed by money, jobs and motoring.
The Guardian site, located at www.guardian.co.uk/travel, will be overseen by Guardian travel editor Charlie Burgess and launches with a competition offering holiday prizes.
