- Web magazine LondonNet (www.londonnet.co.uk) has appointed leading new media sales house TSMSi to handle its on-line advertising sales.
Launched in 1996, LondonNet calls itself the definitive guide to 'the capital of the cool' and features news and entertainment, as well as a guide to the city.
The Website grew out of the failed London evening newspaper venture, London Tonight, which set out to challenge the Evening Standard. It is produced by brothers Peter and David Clee, publisher and editor respectively. The two held the same roles on London Tonight.
LondonNet finds itself competing head-to-head again with the Evening Standard and its own Website -- www.thisislondon.co.uk, which also claims to be the definitive guide to what's going on in London.
Peter Clee said: "From the outset we have used e-commerce and advertising to fund the development of the LondonNet venture."
Vic Synott, TSMSi sales manager, said: "There is a growing interest amongst UK new media advertisers for locally targeted audiences within quality locally focused environments. LondonNet provides both of these and we are confident that we can help grow the product by attracting high calibre advertising."
