New campaign: Woolworths

Woolworths' Wooly and Worth brand characters are making their silver-screen debuts in the launch campaign for the retailer's Worthit! budget range.

The ad, which breaks on 15 June, is based around the bizarre sitcom set-up, complete with canned laughter, of Star Wars' Darth Vader making beans on toast for lunch at Wooly and Worth's flat. Foiled in his plans to complete the preparation of the meal - the pair have no toaster - Vader is made to wait as Worth sends his partner out to buy the appliance, with the line 'They're only a fiver' emphasising its affordability. Wooly returns instead with a toy light-sabre and Star Wars DVD. Vader tries to warm the bread with his lightsabre, only to burn it, setting up the inevitable payoff 'Bit on the dark side, isn't it?'
