The Santander-owned bank sponsors both the Silverstone race and Hamilton's McLaren constructor team, and will use its association with motor racing to promote its range of accounts. The ad features Hamilton and his McLaren F1 car as Airfix models, whose component parts are painted and glued together before coming to life. The TV ad campaign will run from 16 June to 10 August, and will be supported by an online and poster campaign, which rolls out on 30 June. The online push will include the www.santander-racing.com microsite. Abbey is also running a competition, the winner of which will have the chance to ride with mysterious BBC Top Gear driver, The Stig.
