
According to Nestle, the product is '100% natural'; a patented steam-cooking technique is used to preserve the food, which comes in plastic bowls with replaceable lids.
NaturNes was launched earlier this year in France and Spain, and is expected to be introduced to Nestle's other major markets, including the UK, over the next 12 months.
Nestle said the plastic bowl packaging is more environmentally friendly than glass food containers as it requires less energy to manufacture.
In the UK, NaturNes will compete with brands such as Plum Baby, which also promotes its use of natural ingredients.
Last week, Nestle unveiled better-than-expected organic growth of 8.9% for the first nine months of the year. All categories in Europe, apart from its water division, posted high single-digit growth. The firm attributed the poor performance of its water products to environmental concerns.
Nestle Waters UK last month launched its Pure Life brand. According to Nestle, the product, which is also available in more than 20 other countries, is the biggest-selling water brand in the world.
