In the role, he will oversee marketing across Nestlé's portfolio of confectionery, food and beverage brands, including Kit Kat, Shreddies and Nescafé. He will sit on the UK leadership team and report to chief executive Paul Grimwood.

Bradley has previously held several marketing posts in the company, including marketing communications director for Nestlé Greater China. Most recently, he has been running his own start-up marketing consultancy.

He will be part of Nestlé's procurement arm, Fairfield, as well as its Marketing Excellence division.

Bradley will also provide advice to marketing directors across the business, including Terri Tinella, who was appointed marketing director of Nestlé Confectionery last year.

Nestlé posted a 4.1% growth in sales in 2009. It is investing heavily in marketing in response to a restructure of Kraft Food's operations following the latter's takeover of Cadbury earlier this year.
