Nectar card owner names ex Boots head Richard Baker to board

LONDON - Groupe Aeroplan, which owns and manages the Nectar loyalty card, has appointed former Alliance Boots chief executive Richard Baker to chair its European advisory board to help expand its loyalty management services.

Baker has been chairman of the health club chain Virgin Active since 2007. He worked at Boots from 2003 to 2007, where he was responsible for developing the Boots Advantage card. Prior to that, he was chief operating officer and head of marketing at ASDA.

At Groupe Aeroplan Baker will advise on how the company can capitalise on international growth opportunities for its loyalty programmes and the expansion of its customer-driven insight and data analytics business.

The advisory board will initially consist of Richard Baker, Groupe Aeroplan Europe's managing director Tony Buffin and president and CEO of Groupe Aeroplan Inc, Rupert Duchesne.
