National Autistic Society debuts online awareness film

LONDON - The National Autistic Society has launched an online film to boost awareness of the problems faced by people with autism.

The film, which is part of the charity's ‘Think differently about autism campaign', focuses on the difficulties autistic people have using public transport, and runs alongside the charity's current ad campaign in national newspapers.

It can be viewed at www.think-differently.org.uk/awareness and includes extracts from interviews with people with autism explaining how they have reacted in public transport-related situations. It also highlights how, when transport problems occur, understanding and support can make a big difference.

There are more than half a million people in the UK with autism, but despite this, the condition is still relatively unknown and misunderstood.
