NABS BIG BASH DIARY: Nabs makes a splash with its Big Bash night

Good to see Nabs is still packing a punch despite ending its annual reliance on a few pugilists knocking seven bells out of each other in order to swell its coffers.

Nabs boxing is dead. So long live the Nabs Big Bash, which not only managed to loosen inhibitions but wallets too at the London Hilton last week.

Good also to see so many adfolk entering into the spirit of things. Not least Carrie Hindmarsh, the M&C Saatchi group account director. She decided to whip up some interest in the car auction by getting the bidding going for a shiny new Toyota Corolla - and ended up forking out several thousand pounds for being so gung-ho.

Meanwhile, Kate Harris, the Nabs chief executive, raised £80 by charging a tenner to anybody following Diary's lead and calling her Jordan. At the end of the evening, she found a £10 note stuffed down her bra. "I've no idea how it got there," she says. Yeah right, Kate!
