Doris will be the sole managing director at HunkyDory, which has brought over directors such as Dean Blumberg and Charlie Thorne from Mustard as well as signing new talent. HunkyDory (a favoured phrase of Doris) will be based near Angel station in north London.
Doris, who had worked at Mustard since 2000, said: "I loved what we had at Mustard, but felt we needed a change and a new direction. I was keen to start again alone with a more select set of directors with specific skills in their relevant genres.
"I am not reinventing the wheel, but I am offering something honest, resourceful and fresh, with directors and producers who will craft and fulfil any project with the expertise, professionalism and creativity that clients require and return for. I am feeling really energised and confident with the new venture, it’s HunkyDory."
Doris was co-managing partner at Mustard Films along with Matt Hichens. Doris joined Mustard in 2000, a year after it was launched, as a senior producer and was promoted to managing partner in 2004.
Before joining Mustard, Doris was head of TV at CDB, where he had worked since 1984, starting out in the postroom.
