The buzzword around the next conference is connections, with many successful agency-client partnerships profiled, highlighting the increasing importance of relationships in today's research practices.
Now in its 49th year, the MRS annual conference aims to explore how research connects to business with a range of high-profile speakers who will chair provocative conference sessions.
Reed, who founded smoothie company Innocent five years ago and turned it into a £15m company, will approach the role of research in making businesses successful.
Reed himself set up Innocent after research at a music festival in 1998 where he set up a stall selling the drinks, asking customers "Do I give up my day job to make smoothies?" with a yes and no bin for replys at either end of the stall. The answer at the end of the day was a unanimous yes.
Psychologist Furnham will co-chair the conference and share his thoughts on fun and life without a mobile phone.
Companies including the BBC, McDonald's and Nokia will be taking part in research sessions.
Sophie Russell-Ross, conference manager at the MRS, said: "This year's MRS conference offers delegates access to some of the finest minds in the industry. Research 2006 provides something for everyone. It is an excellent opportunity to make new contacts and broaden your professional knowledge at the same time."
Research 2006 Connections is being held at The Barbican in London from March 22 to 24 2006.
