Tom Bazeley: leaves M&C Saatchi

Tom Bazeley, the chief executive of M&C Saatchi, has left the agency. Staff were told he had left by mutual agreement. It is understood he does not have a job to go to.

Before joining the agency, Bazeley co-founded Lean Mean Fighting Machine in 2004 alongside Dave Cox, Dave Bedwood and Sam Ball.

The V&A has named Sophie Brendel director of marketing and communications. She is currently head of digital communications at the BBC and will begin her new role in October.

Caroline Foster Kenny, global chief client officer at MEC, is joining IPG Mediabrands as its chief executive across EMEA. She will join the global leadership team when she takes on the newly created role in January 2017, reporting to Henry Tajer, the global chief executive.

At MEC, Foster Kenny oversaw its top 30 global clients and prior to that was in charge of the global solutions team. She was managing director for CIA between 1996 and 2002, and joined MEC when the businesses merged to become Mediaedge:cia.

MEC Wavemaker, the content division of MEC, has added to its UK management line up with the appointment of Danny Weitzkorn to the new role of content partnerships director. Weitzkorn joins Wavemaker from Ball Street, the UK multi-platform football network, where he was client services and marketing director.

He has been tasked with leading integrated content partnerships for clients including Compare The Market, Danone and Visa Europe. Weitzkorn will focus on delivering insight driven content solutions at the points on the purchase journey where they can most effectively impact a brand’s performance.

Youth marketing agency Livity has appointed Katy Woodrow Hill as strategy director. She will be charged with developing the agency’s well-known, established youth network and helping clients build their own youth networks, as well as overseeing the general strategy offering for all of Livity’s clients, which include Google, Unilever, Barclays and Cancer Research UK.

Previously strategy partner at Dare, Woodrow Hill has more than 10 years of senior agency experience, including a stint as head of social at Wunderman.

VCCP has hired Cat Wiles as its new head of planning after an internal reshuffle. Her appointment comes as predecessor Andrew Perkins is promoted to group head of planning.

Wiles joins from AMV BBDO where she led planning on accounts including Sainsbury’s and Starbucks. She will report into chief strategy officer Michael Lee.

Lily's Kitchen has hired senior Diageo marketer Chris Lock, who becomes the upmarket pet food brand first marketing director.

He will report to Lily’s Kitchen chief executive and founder Henrietta Morrison, overseeing both UK and international marketing
