
Mimi Turner, the marketing director who helped to transform the fortunes of The Lad Bible, has stepped down. Turner, a former journalist and PR professional with 20 years' experience, became an unlikely but persuasive ambassador for The Lad Bible, a website and social news brand aimed at teenage boys and twenty-somethings. A former director of communications for Richard Desmond's Northern & Shell, Turner joined The Lad Bible in January 2015.
Dentsu Aegis Network has named Ruth Stubbs as global president of iProspect, succeeding Ben Wood who left the agency last month. Stubbs, previously the chief executive of iProspect Asia Pacific, joins the global brand board and assumes responsibility for the agency.
Adam Rostom has started at Ovo Energy as chief marketing officer. He joins from Dyson where he held the role of global category director for cordless and robot vacuums. Prior to that, he headed up marketing for Innocent Drinks.
The Gate has lured Beri Cheetham away from Leo Burnett to become the agency's executive creative director. He joins after four years at Leo Burnett, where he began as ECD of Arc in 2012. He then became ECD of Leo Burnett's activation specialism after the agency streamlined its operations last October.
MediaCom has promoted Luke Bozeat to chief operations officer and Phil Hall to chief commercial strategy officer in the UK. They are the first significant appointments made by Josh Krichefski since he took over as chief executive of Britain’s biggest media agency at the start of 2016. Bozeat, who was previously joint managing director of MediaCom London, fills the chief operations officer role that Krichefski held before his promotion to chief executive. Hall, who was the head of trading and investment, replaces Craig Lennon who has been promoted to director, commercial and operations EMEA.
Maxus UK has appointed Emil Bielski as its new head of business development. He joins from MEC where he held a number of roles across data strategy, brand planning and digital, most recently he was head of performance planning.
Manning Gottlieb OMD has hired Alan King from sister agency UM London as head of digital, taking charge of the Omnicom media shop's digital team. At UM, King was responsible for driving its digital product portfolio. MG OMD has also appointed Richard Shotton, the head of insight at Zenith, to be its new deputy head of evidence.
Engine has hired M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment’s Dave Roberts to lead the UK arm of its content and entertainment marketing agency Trailer Park. A member of this year’s inaugural Cannes Entertainment Lions jury, Robert’s industry career spans twenty years. Having spent his formative years at content specialist Drum PHD, Roberts joined M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment from BBH in 2008.
Noble Foods, the UK egg supplier, has appointed Geraldine Phillips as marketing director for its shell egg division, which includes the brands The Happy Egg Company and Big & Fresh. With more than 15 years’ experience working with food and drink brands, Phillips' most recent role was European marketing manager for growth business platforms at Iglo Group.
Hearst-owned digital marketing agency iCrossing has appointed Alistair Dent as its chief media officer. Dent’s previous role at iProspect was head of product strategy and was before that he was director of paid media at Periscopix.
Omnicom Media Group UK has hired James Ullman as head of Resolution, its search, social and PPC agency. Ullman will work closely with OMG UK’s chief digital officer, Adam Pace, and the digital teams within OMG UK’s agencies. Ullman joins from PPC management company Periscopix, where he was senior business development manager.
Jack Morton Worldwide has appointed Christopher Butler as director of content studio. Based in the agency’s London office, Butler will lead Jack Morton’s content marketing offering. He joins Jack Morton from Gyro, London, where he was head of film and creative content.
Search marketing agency 4Ps has been acquired by Paris-listed digital performance marketing agency NetBooster, subject to the French company's shareholder approval. 4Ps, which has 60 staff, will continue to be based in its office in Highbury, north London, and will be led by co-founders Chris Hyland and Matt Phelan. The deal was facilitated by corporate finance advisors Green Square.
