Jack Thompson, White Light senior lighting designer, has been appointed technical director of theatre for the Manchester International Festival, which takes place from 28 June to 15 July. He will oversee the technical production element of the festival's theatre shows such as Monkey: Journey to the West, an opera featuring 36 Chinese acrobats. Thompson will fit the festival around other projects he will work on for White Light.
