Balfour, who is the managing director of the Edinburgh-based agency Navigator, takes over from David Metcalfe, the head of wholesale banking development at Lloyds TSB Scotland. Metcalfe, who steps down to take on his new role as the deputy chairman of DMA UK, will continue to work as a DMA Scotland Council member. James Kelly, the managing director of the DMA, said: "It's a dynamic time for the DM industry in Scotland - both in terms of increasing contribution to economic growth and the talent and innovation coming from the region."
