How is your new role different to your previous job?
The circumstances and clients are different, but the principles and processes of event management remain the same. My previous role was working within the asset management business, which isn't as vast as the retail bank; the team at Barclays is much larger.
Why did you choose this role?
I realised that I missed the banking world. When I left Barclays Global Investors I went to Canada to work on the Winter Olympics and, on my return, looked at opportunities relating to London 2012. However, this simply confirmed to me that financial services was where I wanted to be.
What do you plan to do to make your mark?
The team at Barclays has seen some changes and additions over the past few months. I want to consolidate our new team in order to work collaboratively with the business areas and to forge strong relationships with our key stakeholders. Through this collaboration, I would like to identify potential opportunities for developing new activities suited to the requirements of our various clients.
