Motorway Cops win the crime ratings war

Crime dominated the all important 9pm to 10pm hour last night, though motorway policing on BBC One chased ahead of a murder documentary on ITV1, according to unofficial overnight figures.

‘Motorway Cops’ was watched by an average of 4.5 million viewers between 9pm and 10pm last night, a 20.5% share of the TV watching audience.

ITV fared less well with ‘Real Crime with Mark Austin’ which was watched by an average of 2.42 million people between 9pm and 10pm, an 11% share of the available audience.

The final episode of Channel 4’s three-parter ‘The Hunt for Britain’s Sex Traffickers’ was watched by an average of 1.64 million viewers between 9pm and 10pm, a 7.5% share of the TV watching audience. A further 184,800 watched the show on Channel 4+1.

This week's Anglo Saxon episode of the archaeology documentary ‘Digging for Britain’ was watched by an average of 2.21 million people on BBC Two, a 10.1% share of the available audience.

Channel Five’s showing of the Jean-Claude Van Damme film ‘The Shepherd’ was watched by an average audience of 1.10 million, a 5.6% share of the available audience.

‘Ultimate Big Brother received an average audience of 2.53 million across Channel 4 and Channel 4+1.
