Moore leaves AOL for Telegraph

LONDON - Telegraph Media Group has hired AOL director Michael Moore as executive director of consumer markets.

The appointment comes in the same week as TMG lost its marketing director, Katie Vanneck, to Times Media.
Moore's new role involves working across marketing, research and strategy.
He joined AOL in the US in 1998 and was behind AOL launching in Europe, heading the advertising sales team until 2006 when he became head of monetisation services for AOL Europe, overseeing search and social networking. He also headed AOL Europe's delivery of products.
Moore's move is the latest in a string of departures from AOL. Moore follows AOL's ex-head of commercial development Phil Guest and managing director Andy Jonesco out of the door. Guest became managing director of Habbo Hotel in March while Jonesco has started his role as head of digital strategy at Sky.
