The agency picked up the account following a competitive pitch, defeating OgilvyOne in a final shootout. Harrison Troughton Wunderman worked with Wunderman Paris and Wunderman Germany to win the business.
The appointment follows the completion of a review of Monster's ú50m European media planning and buying account, which was moved from ZenithOptimedia into Mediaedge:cia in April.
The TMP Worldwide-owned company has briefed Wunderman to create a pan-European online strategy to boost its profile. Arc Integrated, which won Monster's UK online account last year, is not affected by the hiring.
The company is now expected to review its creative account, which is currently held by Leo Burnett.
Monster, which was founded in 1994 and has 24 sites around the world, is the UK's biggest online job site. It has about 2.5m registered users in the UK. Nearly 11m UK residents currently use recruitment services.
The company spent about ú2m on UK advertising in 2005, according to Nielsen Media Research, although its spend is expected to be considerably higher this year.
