The agency’s former chief marketing officer will head up both its London and Manchester offices. His remit includes overseeing growth, client relationships and talent development, while he will also continue to lead on select international growth projects during his transition to president.
D’Arcy first joined Momentum in 2003 as marketing director. Following stints at Iris and Virgin’s F1 brand, he rejoined the agency in 2010 as a member of its European board.
He was promoted to chief growth officer in 2011, and to the global board as chief marketing officer in 2013. During his time at the company D’Arcy has delivered campaigns for brands such as Verizon, Diageo, Unilever and United Airlines.
Chris Weil, chairman and chief executive officer at Momentum, said: "We operate in a market where it’s not what a brand says, but rather what a brand does that matters, which has shaped how Momentum Worldwide has reinvented and redefined itself over the years to achieve tremendous growth. Luke D’Arcy has been essential to that growth, and is the ideal leader to drive our UK operation forward.
"Luke has the ideas and the vision to take the most awarded brand experience agency in the market and deliver a new, powerful chapter for our own brand and its roster of blue chip clients."
D’Arcy added: "Over my career, I’ve been honored to be a part of the Momentum family, helping the agency and its clients face new challenges – and it’s a tremendous honor to be assuming direct leadership of offices that are stars in the network, with creative, strategic and cultural strength that is second-to-none in this industry.
"The team here is transforming so many areas of brand experience, generating amazing insights, technological innovations and business results. We’re ready to elevate our game and raise the bar in the market."
