Chris Moss, Orange’s launch marketing director, has been taken on

by ICO Global Communications, a company setting up a mobile phone

service that can be used anywhere in the world.

Moss, currently brands director at Lloyds TSB, will be vice-president of

marketing at ICO. His initial task will be to sell the service to

existing service providers, which will offer the ICO facility alongside

their own.

By the end of next year, once ICO has established its ten satellites and

ground networks, the brand will be launched to consumers. ’We want

consumers to know enough about the service so that they can ask for a

phone that is compatible with ICO,’ said a spokeswoman.

Moss was marketing director at Virgin Atlantic for eight years before

joining the team that introduced the Orange brand in 1994.

ICO, which was floated on Nasdaq earlier this month, was established in

1995.
