Richard Poston takes the role of director of communications. He joins from the engineering group TI, where he was director of communications and a member of the executive board.
The role of head of investor relations goes to David Boyd, who previously held the same role at J Sainsbury.
The pair faces an uphill PR battle as the announcement of the O2 brand -- which is set to replace BT Cellnet in the UK -- has been received with a barrage of criticism from the UK media.
Poston will report to mmO2 CEO Peter Erskine, while Boyd will report to chief finance officer David Finch.
