Mitsubishi has awarded its core media planning and buying business, worth over pounds 6m, to Manning Gottlieb Media, following its split from full-service agency Roose & Partners after 18 months (Marketing, January 25).
Manning Gottlieb Media is thought to have been awarded the business without a pitch. It previously handled media buying for the Japanese car brand through its tie-up with Roose Media. Strategic planning was handled by Roose.
Planning and buying of local media for regional dealerships will be handled by Golley Slater.
Mitsubishi has split its above-the-line advertising business between Japanese agency Asatsu, which handles its worldwide advertising, and Golley Slater, which will work on tactical dealer tasks and some brand advertising.
The appointments were made as Mitsubishi seeks to align its UK advertising with the rest of Europe.
Neither Mitsubishi nor Manning Gottlieb Media were available for comment.
