Mitsubishi Motors UK's marketing general manager, Philip Price, has
left the car-marker and is to be replaced by Ford marketer Darren
Holmess.
Mitsubishi refused to say whether Price, who could not be contacted, had
another job to go to. However, it is understood that he turned down
another role at the car-maker before he left. He had been with
Mitsubishi since 1997.
Holmess will report to sales and marketing director Paul Williams and
his remit covers the day-to-day operation of all marketing
activities.
He joins Mitsubishi from Ford, where he has worked since 1988, most
recently as manager of sales, planning and analyses. His first post at
the company was at Ford Credit Europe.
He moved to Ford of Britain in 1992, where he caught the eye of current
Mitsubishi managing director Jim Tyrell. Tyrell, who joined Mitsubishi a
year ago, worked at Ford from 1995-1998.
Holmess will be responsible for Mitsubishi's UK advertising
agencies.
The roster was rejigged in February, with the car company dropping
full-service agency Roose & Partners in favour of Golley Slater and
Manning Gottlieb Media. Japanese agency Asatsu handles pan-European
work.
