Miron quits Indy to take MD role at Associated outfit

LONDON - The Independent commercial director Stephen Miron is quitting the newspaper to take up a new position as managing director of Associated New Ventures.

His move creates what will be a highly sought-after vacancy and Independent MD Terry Grote said he had already received several calls from senior industry figures.

Names in the frame for the job include former Express Newspapers managing director Andy Jonesco and ex-CNN ad sales chief Lawson Muncaster.

Miron will head Associated New Media, which houses the Femail, This is London and UK Plus websites, contract publishing arm Cube, and Loot, which Associated bought recently for £45m.
