Northey joins from ZenithOptimedia's Zed Media division, where he was head of data planning.
In his new role, he will be responsible for integrating Mindshare's data planning and database management activities and developing this service for new and existing clients as part of its drive to strengthen its customer insight offering.
He will be part of the UK managing partners board reporting to futures director Jed Glanvill.
"Consumer Insight is at the heart of what of we do. Duncan has been charged with developing this area further, to turn our client's customer information into the insight that drives our communications solutions," Glanvill said.
Northey's division will work alongside Mindshare units ATG, its media and brand economics team and Consumer Insight.
