Mike Tyson makes amends for ear-biting in Foot Locker spot

Mike Tyson gives Evander Holyfield his ear back, 16 years after biting it off in the ring, in a tongue-in-cheek new campaign for Foot Locker, which also sees an airline clerk overjoyed when basketball star Dennis Rodman buys a one-way ticket to North Korea.

The ad is promoting Foot Locker’s ‘Week of Greatness’, during which an array of premium shoes will be on sale at its US stores.

The 60-second spot kicks off with Cleveland Cavaliers’ Kyrie Irving, who, on hearing the news of Foot Locke’s promotion, announces: "All is right with the world". His pronouncement is followed by sequences in which a host of US sports stars, including Tyson and Holyfield, right the sporting wrongs of the world.

"I’m sorry, Evander," a conciliatory looking Tyson tells Holyfield when he turns up at his front door proffering the type of box that might contain an engagement ring. "It’s your ear," he says, before opening the box proposal-style and embracing his former boxing rival.
