Fairbrother brings 12 years of design experience and a national diploma in graphic design. He has worked with brands including Toshiba and JCB, where he spent four years working in the UK and US as lead designer.
In his new role Fairbrother will work with the rest of the Michon team on creative projects for major accounts including Ronseal and Eon.
David Pettitt, senior art director at Michon, said: "After an extensive 18-month process we are ecstatic to have found Steve. It's a rarity to find a creative professional who is such an accomplished all-rounder.
"Usually a designer specialises in one field, whereas Steve is excellent with concepts and also the technical side of the job so will be a great asset to the team."
Michon was established by Jeff Michon in 1982 and provides a range of creative, marketing and project management services including brand development, design, emarketing and advertising.
