
The first brand to advertise on the newly-refreshed www.metoffice.gov.uk is Best Western, the biggest group of independently-owned hotels in the UK .
The Met Office said opening up new advertiser revenue streams will let the government invest more in the service provided on the website.
The initial campaign features a series of online skyscraper ads communicating deals the hotel group is offering for two-night breaks.
The campaign runs for a month from this week, and will be updated with Best Western's latest offers.
