Mediaedge:cia continues to expand

LONDON - Mediaedge:cia has announced a raft of senior UK appointments as it continues to expand after a similar string of hires in June.

The WPP-owned agency has appointed Luisa Bright as business director of its online, direct and search division, MEC Interaction. She joins from digital marketing agency Green Cathedral and has nine years’ digital experience.
MEC Sponsorship has appointed Ann Wixley to the role of account director for strategy and activation. Wixley moves across from MEC’s Nota Bene, South Africa’s leading communications planning agency, where she worked for clients including Pepsi, Virgin Mobile, Mini and Unilever.
Marianne MacKenzie also rejoins MEC as a communications director after two years at MindShare Chicago.
MEC scooped the media planning and buying account for Freeview last week, less than a month after picking up the BT media planning account, which was previously handled in-house.
Joint managing director Steve Hatch told Media Week the latest appointments would boost the agency’s strength and depth across a number of disciplines. “These appointments go some way towards supporting our future growth targets,” he said.
The recent hires follow the appointments in June of James Atherton as business director, Ian Stevens as broadcast account director and Fiona Hodges as regional press director, on the back of “phenomenal” growth and a run of new business wins.
