MediaCom has promoted Luca Margarito and Claudine Collins to the
board.
Margarito, 29, manages five big-name clients: Pedigree Mars, Seat,
Emirates, Remington and Ikea.
The director has just negotiated a deal for Seat to sponsor Sky’s
coverage of Spanish football. The deal, which lasts for a year, kicks
off in August.
Margarito has also swelled billings for Mars Confectionery by an extra
pounds 7 million by bringing the Twix and Starburst Fruit Ice brands on
board.
Collins, 32, moved over from MediaCom’s direct arm to work with Steve
Goodman in the press buying department six months ago.
She was associate director of the direct arm and took charge of all
press buying and the purchasing of half-a-billion inserts a year.
As deputy press director, her main task has been to handle Volkswagen’s
press budget of more than pounds 10 million.
Other big press buyers that come under Collins’ remit are IPC Southbank,
Greene King and the Metropolitan Police.
Jane Ratcliffe, joint managing director, said: ’We are delighted to have
two such committed and talented people joining the board.’
