I make my way to work while listening to Christian O'Connell on Xfm and then plough through the trades.
However, last week was different. It was generators, scaffolding and the odd expletive that stirred my eyes open inside my tent at the Isle of Wight Festival.
The day's highlight was a bird's eye view from the balcony of Virgin Radio's hospitality area as Faithless delivered yet another stirring festival set.
Then it's over to The Strongbow Rooms; this experiential campaign's following is even stronger this year and is just holding on to its roof. But I can't stay, I'm off to the Download Festival.
I arrive and check logistics are all in place.
The Snickers Extreme Sports ramp is looking suitably extreme and the mighty Ozzfest Juggernaut is making its way into position for mass-adulation.
Feeder and Garbage ensure the first night goes down a storm.
Luckily, the weather is the opposite and Saturday starts sunny until Slipknot hit the stage and heads start to bang.
I head over to the Nintendo tent – where revellers are revelling in the free access to the latest Megaman Battle Network 5 – before making my way to the main stage and my first Carling pint of the weekend.
Then it is back to the Isle of Wight to watch R.E.M. I finally get home at midnight and flick on C4 praying I've missed Big Brother 's Little Brother.
